Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Jweddings collects when you use the Jweddings website (jweddings.sites.tab.bot) and the Jweddings Android app, how we use it, and the choices you have. Jweddings is operated by Jweddings, Monsey, NY, USA (“Jweddings”, “we”, “us”).

Information we collect

Account information. To use Jweddings you create an account. We store:

Your email address and the name you choose (you can change your name on the Account page).
If you sign up with email and password: your password, stored only as a salted, one-way hash. We never store or see your password in readable form.
If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address, name and the link to your Google profile picture. We ask Google only for your basic profile and email address. We do not get access to your Google contacts, files, or anything else in your Google account.

Your activity in Jweddings. To run the service and show your library, we store:

Your listening history (which songs you played and when). Plays are also counted, without your name, in the total play counts shown for songs and weddings.
Songs you like, weddings you save, and the playlists you create.

Technical information.

Sign-in session. When you sign in we create a random session token so you stay signed in. On the website it is kept in a secure, HTTP-only cookie (jw_session) that lasts up to 90 days or until you sign out. The app keeps the same token on your phone, encrypted with a key protected by your phone’s Android Keystore. Short-lived cookies are also used during Google sign-in (they expire within minutes).
IP address. During sign-in we use your IP address to protect accounts against abuse (rate limiting). These security records are deleted automatically, within about 24 hours.

Stored on your device. The website stores your current play queue in your browser so you can pick up where you left off, and caches the app’s files so it opens quickly. The Android app caches cover images, recently streamed audio and screen data on your phone for speed and offline use. Songs you download are saved to your phone’s Downloads/Jweddings folder. You can remove these at any time by clearing the app’s or browser’s data, or deleting the files.

How we use your information

To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
To stream music to you and to show your history, likes, saved weddings and playlists, and to let you continue where you left off.
To show play counts and “most played” lists.
To answer you when you contact support.

What we do not do

We do not show ads.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools, in the website or in the app.
We do not share your information with anyone except as described below.

Who else handles your information

Hosting and storage. Jweddings runs on a cloud hosting provider that stores our database and music files and delivers the site and app content to you over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. They process this data only to provide that service to us.
Google. Only if you choose “Sign in with Google”: Google handles that sign-in under Google’s own privacy policy and tells us your Google account ID, email, name and profile picture. Your profile picture is loaded from Google’s servers.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users or the service.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information and activity for as long as your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire after 90 days (or when you sign out), and security records from sign-in are deleted within about 24 hours.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing jweddings.support@gmail.com from the email address on your account. When we delete an account, we remove your account details, sign-in sessions, listening history, likes, saved weddings and playlists. Anonymous total play counts are not linked to you and stay. You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it at the same address.

Security

All connections to Jweddings use HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and session tokens on the Android app are stored encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Jweddings is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
